Sailing Holiday British Virgin Islands

Picture this: turquoise sea under steady trade winds, swaying palms welcoming your arrival—and no fighting for dock space or queuing for mojitos. That’s sailing in the British Virgin Islands, Seascape‑style. It’s the Caribbean uncluttered: easy‑going barefoot days hopping from one picture‑postcard anchorage to the next—Virgin Gorda’s famous Baths, seafood lunches in Anegada, impromptu beach‑bar jam sessions in Jost Van Dyke.

British Virgin Islands Sailing Holiday

Virgin Gorda is stunning, you might want to hike to the Baths and explore the hidden beaches nearby. Anegada is a standout—flat, wild, and ringed with coral reefs—perfect for a lobster dinner. Then we make our way west, anchoring in quiet bays at places like Guana Island and Great Harbour. These less-visited spots offer crystal-clear snorkeling and unforgettable sunsets, before we sail back toward Tortola with one last stop at Norman Island for a swim through caves and a toast at the floating bar.

* Mentioned islands are indicative, as the routes we plan and the islands we visit always depend on sailing conditions. As true Seascapers we always make sure you’ll have the trip of a lifetime.

Arrival

The boat will be available to you on Wednesday evening before your charter starts, from 6:00 PM. You will stay on board Wednesday night and we will plan to sail Thursday morning.

Getting There

The boat is located in Nanny Cay Marina, Tortola. The most popular way to get there, is to fly to St. Thomas airport (STT), and then take a scheduled ferry to Tortola. You could also choose a private water taxi that gets you straight to the marina. Another option is to book a flight directly to Tortola, and then take a taxi to the marina.

Itinerary

Take a look at the map and our sample itinerary to get an idea of possible island we visit. We will discuss the ideal itinerary when you get on board based on the latest weather forecast and your personal preferences.

Departure

On the last Tuesday night of your charter, you stay on board of the boat on anchor. We return to the marina very early onWednesday morning. Disembarkation is Wednesday morning by 9:00 AM.

What we offer in comparison to chartering your own sailing boat

Charting your own boat is one way to do it. But when you add up all the ‘mandatory extras’ you’re required to pay on top- check in and out fees, cleaning fees, skipper and hostess, mooring fees, diesel costs… The list goes on and it gets expensive. Sailing with Seascape Sailing makes more sense and is better value because we believe in a ‘no hidden costs’ price. It takes the stress out of planning your dream vacation in the BVIs, we handle all the organising. You just show up and relax!

What’s included with us by default, and is add-on price elsewhere:
  • Experienced captain / local guide with good knowledge of the islands, best bays and snorkeling spots, best places to eat out.
  • Hostess
  • All soft drinks, provisioning for breakfast, lunches, and 2 evening meals
  • Complimentary welcome drinks happy hour, we’ll have cold beers and home made rum punch on board when you arrive
  • Paddle board and floating noodles
  • Snorkeling equipment
  • All local cruising taxes, mooring fees, skipper fees, provisioning, diesel etc.

Catamaran Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 – 2020

We love Fountaine Pajot catamarans because they do actually sail really well. And we’re always super keen to get the sails up and the engines off. We know this boat very well as we sailed it during the 2025-2026 season. The catamaran has 6 cabins for 2 people (all doubles with ensuite bathroom) and can accommodate up to 10 people divided over 5 cabins, the 6th cabin is accommodated by the skipper and hostess. Sample Itinerary

After breakfast we’ll be heading out to get an early start and tack up the Sir Francis Drake Channel to The Baths on the southern end of Virgin Gorda. You can spend the whole day exploring the tunnels, caves and crystal-clear pools. Enjoy a little lunch on board before heading back across the channel towards Marina Cay for the night.

We sail north to Saba Rock and Oil Nut Bay area both gorgeous stops for chilling and swimming, tonight we BBQ on board!

If the weather permits, today we sail to Anegada. In addition to the beautiful white beaches, you will fall in love with the Roseate Flamingos, rare rock iguanas, manmade conch islands and splendid plant species like sea lavender. The fantastic outer reef, Horseshoe Reef, is rich in marine life and perfect for snorkeling or diving and dotted with shipwrecks. Anegada is the most scenic water sports playground in the region, especially for kiteboarders and paddle boarders alike. And for Dinner…? Lobster of course!
We sail southwest to the Dog islands, the great Dog famous for the amazing snorkeling. We have lunch there before casting off for our overnight stop at either the Scrub Islands or a mooring ball at Marina Cay. Dinner ashore somewhere or perhaps on the boat, we let you choose!
As the sun rises, we’ll have an early start sailing west, Towards Jost Van Dyke, We’re stopping a for lunch and morning snorkel at Monkey Point, Guana Island. Monkey Point is another national park, with an abundance of marine life. Yellowtail snappers, bluestriped grunts and yellow jacks, along with turtles and tarpon call this home. After lunch we continue to Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke, home to Foxy’s where they are well known for live music and barbecues on the weekends. With this in mind, it makes for a great stop for the night. if anyone is up for it, we’ll take the dinghy and head around the point into White Bay. Enjoy a ‘Painkiller’ at the Soggy Dollar Bar before heading back around to Great Harbor for dinner.

We depart Great harbour and sail south to the Indians, this is also a really famous snorkeling spot, in fact one of the best in the BVI’s. We’ll hang out here for a few hours before heading to Norman Island, where the famous floating Willy T bar is.

We depart very early to be back in Nanny Cay Marina around 8:00 AM. Sadly it’s almost time to disembark. We say goodbye for now but not forever hopefully!
