Off the beaten track sailing adventures

About SeaScape Sailing

Sail the world’s most breathtaking waters with SeaScape Sailing. Our journeys take you beyond the ordinary, where stunning landscapes, hidden gems, and authentic experiences await. Whether you’re seeking the timeless charm of the Mediterranean, a Caribbean paradise, or dreaming of new horizons, our carefully curated destinations offer unforgettable sailing adventures.

The SeaScape Sailing Philosophy

We don’t fit the usual sailing niches. Our Adventure Sailing trips land somewhere between bareboat charters and fully crewed yachts. These are hands-on, participatory, “real” sailing adventures—we provide all the ingredients: provisioning, local know-how, and expert guidance. All you have to do is turn up and have fun!

Our skippers are happy to let you take the helm—or teach you how. They won’t vanish at port, either. They’ll introduce you to local buddies, plan land excursions, or lead the way to their favourite places. Want some personal time? No problem.

SeaScape trips feel more like sailing with a bunch of good friends than being waited on. Our skippers won’t hover in white uniforms, but they’ll always have your back—ready to help you have the best holiday ever. Everything will be there and ready to go, including invaluable local knowledge, and the super-enthusiastic welcome that our local friends always extend to our sailors.

Meet the SeaScape Sailing Team

Paul Ryan is your contact person at SeaScape Sailing

Paul

Skipper and Owner

Paul grew up on the west coast of Ireland. Comes from a fishing background on both sides of his family. His father John ran a deep sea charter Angling business for 50 years and Paul and his brother Barry spent their summers out on the boat, running around in oversized life jackets trying to help, but mostly just getting in the way, and asking silly questions.

But that’s the best way to learn seamanship, from a young age it all sticks, and from there there Paul took up sailing as teenager and spent many summers racing boats in regattas all over the west of Ireland.

Fast forward 35 years, Paul has owned 6 different yachts to date, sailed many thousand of miles, and has an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with commercial endorsement qualification. He skippered for Diane during the season of 2023, and again for another Kos based charter company in 2024. So he knows the Dodecanese area extremely well, from the tiny sheltered anchorages to the best beaches and restaurants.
He’s passionate about sailing and loves to teach it, and above all ensuring his passengers really get the full real Greek island experience. There’s always a guitar 🎸 on the boat and when the sundowners are in hand sometimes the guitar is too. 😊

Anique

Deckhand, Jack-of-all-Trades & Hostess

After more than a decade in corporate marketing and hospitality, Anique realized that her heart belonged not to boardrooms but to the open sea. A passionate traveler, she spent every spare moment exploring the world—whether diving vibrant reefs in the Caribbean or sailing through the remote islands of the Philippines. It was during these moments on the water that a deeper calling became clear.

In 2025, she followed that call and made a bold career shift to join SeaScape Sailing, blending her professional expertise with her personal passion. While she’s still charting her own course as a sailor-in-training, Anique brings a wealth of experience to SeaScape’s marketing efforts—ensuring the spirit of adventure and the beauty of life at sea are shared with every guest, follower, and future crew member.

Diane Edwards, the previous owner and skipper of SeaScape Sailing

Diane

Founder of SeaScape Sailing

Also known by those who sail in her Aegean realm as “The Goddess Diana,” or “Mother Hen”! After completing a degree in Psychology at Sussex University (UK), she spent her early years vacillating between boat-bumming and the software industry. An increasing gathering of potential sailors wanting to join her trips to Greece inspired her to take the plunge and buy our first boat “Vassilis” – and so SeaScape Sailing was born. Diane is taking a break from sailing for while, but we’re trying to get her back soon for some Greek sunshine as we know how much she misses these islands!

Artemis, our sailing yacht in Greece

Artemis is a modern-designed 55′ sloop, with a semi-pilothouse design which creates a very unusual – and huge! – split-level saloon. She has 4 ensuite cabins for 8 guests in total, 2 double cabins in the aft and 2 bunk bed cabins forward.

This is SeaScape Sailing

SeaScape Sailing has been running owner-operated sailing holidays in the Dodecanese islands of Greece since 1994. Three decades of Greek summers spent finding the quiet anchorages, the family-run tavernas, and the islands the cruise ships never reach.

Our shareboat concept (now also called cabin charter) is the original cornerstone of the business. Today we run shareboat trips for solo travellers, couples and small groups, plus private charters for friends and family who want a whole boat to themselves. In winter we sail the British Virgin Islands aboard our catamaran Good Vibrations.

SeaScape was founded by Diane Edwards in 1994 (you can read her story in the Hall of Fame above). In autumn 2024, after 30 years at the helm, Diane sold the company to Paul Ryan, a sailor she’d skippered alongside, who shares her commitment to keeping SeaScape Sailing personal, hands-on, and fundamentally not like the big charter operators. Paul now leads every Greek and Caribbean charter himself.

We look forward to seeing you on the water!
